Fiber Optic
overview For applications where the distance, bandwidth or image quality requirements strain the capabilities of standard coaxial transmission, Panasonic offers fiber optic transmission solutions.
On coax networks video signals begin to degrade when transmitted beyond 1000 feet, which can impair the quality of images. But with Panasonic fiber optic transmission systems, you can easily transmit video as far as four miles with virtually no loss of image clarity or quality, and entirely without repeaters or amplifiers. That can be invaluable for particular expansive installations such as theme parks or campuses, or for monitoring of remote or distance locations.
Higher capacity Fiber optic cables have extraordinary bandwidth capacity, which allows you to move far more information than coax, for a given size and weight of cable. The very nature of fiber optic transmission makes it virtually immune to electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference - and even lightning - which can be especially valuable in environments such as power-transmission or generating facilities, antenna or broadcast installations, or certain industrial environments. Panasonic's fiber optic portfolio allows you to use virtually any Panasonic Security equipment over fiber optic transmission facilities. The products include:
Fiber transmitters that take a video signal from any Panasonic camera, and convert it to signals that can be transmitted over fiber-optic cables. Fiber receivers that convert signals coming from a fiber optic cable to standard video output for monitors, recorders, or switching equipment. Fiber transceivers which can transmit video over fiber optic, while providing a 'return' path for camera control.
